We have settled into Campbell River where Paul and Karen live watching cruise ships and hanging around.

It’s a nice town that has everything that you would need and it’s directly on the The Discovery Passage that’s between British Columbia mainland and Vancouver Island. Quite a bit of Cruise Ship activity to check out

We went a short distance out of town to check out Elk Falls, which is a really cool place with again old growth forest to walk-through and a serious suspension bridge to look down over the falls

Campbell River is also an indigenous peoples home with lots of totem poles, and what not and a heavy influence of indigenous peoples We went out with Paul and Karen and checked out the Oyster River Potholes. It’s a really cool rock formation created by water and the salmon were running up the river and if you look at one of the pictures, you can see a couple of hundred of them sitting there.

We went to the casino and had lunch and checked out the casino situation, which is just fine not particularly my thing, but we did have some fun. We spend some time at Paul‘s and hooked up with our old friend Terry Schultz, who I hadn’t seen for quite a number of years and he as well lives here in Campbell River and I think we’re going be seeing a little bit more of him. 🤠

Paul and Terry took off to Seattle for a weekend of football and we hung out and went to a place called Mount Washington, which is the highest mountain on Vancouver Island. Quite a drive up there I wouldn’t want to do it in my RV but in a car it’s no issue. It was a little foggy when we got there but the views coming down were just fantastic. 😀

A little bit more hanging around and a walk down the pier with some salmon, fish and chips as salmon is the number one thing around here. You can see seals and the as of now unseen the whales.

We are so I’m told in a rainforest. That means we have rain. We have wind. We have sunshine and we have fog. We can even have them all in the same day as we have learned.

We spent the day inside due to rain and windstorm with winds getting up to about 80 to 90 km an hour and the RV was shaking a little bit, but we didn’t lose power and it was all good. Apparently, the only people in town that were freaked out by this was myself and Monika. The neighbor's satellite dish blew down onto the water connection and water sprayed out for about 15 minutes until the maintenance department came, turned off the water and repaired the problem. All of this happened of course in the wind and rainstorm. 🤓

We spent a lovely Friday evening with Paul and Karen and meeting lots of fun and interesting people at the Royal Canadian Legion. There was bingo. There was a 50-50 draw. There was food and there was karaoke. Lots of friendly folks around here for sure. Once again, the weather is bizarre and it went from being very, very nice on Friday to Saturday being gray and cold, but that’s a great time to go for a seaside lunch of Pacific Chowder

We’re preparing to move to our final spot at a place called Salmon Point about 20 minutes south of Campbell River where we will make base until the end of October. Thanks again to everybody for following along. 😎
