We packed up our camp at Thunderbird in Campbell River and headed about a half an hour down the road to Salmon Point RV park. It’s a real nice park with a hot tub and we overlook The Discovery Straight which in reality is the ocean and a marina.
Will be staying here until the end of October and we are very pleased with our choice. We’ve taken a few trips between here and Campbell River and down to Courtenay Comox, where we also plan on visiting with some friends and that’s becoming our main shopping area.
Even the rain and the gray, can’t make it a bad place to be as there’s some spectacular sunsets. Haven’t gotten a good sunrise picture yet, but I’m sure that will be coming.
We got a call from BMW Mein in Victoria and we drove down to Victoria with our Rent-A-Car to give it back to them. Our Mini is in getting recall work done on it so all the cost are being incurred by them and not us. We had a lovely drive down. It was a beautiful day and we had a chance to stop and take some of the scenery that’s almost impossible to look at when you’re in a large RV. They provided us with the 2025 Mini Cooper S to drive around which is a pretty nice little car.
We went with Paul and Karen to a concert on Friday night in Campbell River and the band was called the Doobie Brothers experience. They did perfect record sounding covers of Doobie Brothers songs and we had great seats and it was a very impressive show. 😎
Some more time spent barbecuing hanging out in the hot tub and going for walks. Sunday afternoon we went to Campbell River and Monika went to a craft course with Karen and I ended up playing music at the Legion with some pretty cool musicians. It was a lot of fun and I’m going to return in a couple of weeks and play some more. 🤠
Things will quiet down for the next little while as we’re just relaxing. We are preparing though for a trip to the US at the end of October in our car Thanks for following along. 😄
