So we decamped Oak Lake Manitoba, and headed to the outskirts of Regina Saskatchewan. Our new RV park was pretty close to everything and in fact, we could see Costco from the window of our motorhome.
We put our nice clothes on and began to explore this really nice city. They have a beautiful park down near The Manitoba Legislative Building with a nice lake some nice tree lines streets. Of course, we also went out for lunch. There were a few television things we had to watch like the Stanley Cup final so having over air television was really good.
We spent some time at The Royal Saskatchewan Museum , which was quite nice and very educational. They have Scotty the world’s largest Tyrannosaurus rex and the pictures don’t do it justice on how big he really is. We learned all about the nature and the diversity of nature in this beautiful province.
We learned a lot about native Canadians and their plight and traditions here in Saskatchewan. If you’re in Regina, the museum is a must. 😀
We then headed off to beautiful Moose Jaw , Saskatchewan. It features as per the sign The Worlds Tallest Moose. His name is Mac. Downtown Moose Jaw is a nice old town that has revitalized itself as a tourist destination with really cool old buildings lots of nice restaurants and tunnel tours. We did the Chicago tour which explains to you with the help of actors and sets the way that bootleg booze was smuggled and produced during the prohibition times in the 1920s.
We also had a surprise visit from Sam, our old friend who is travelling from Vancouver to Ontario and his travel companion Thor. We hung out. Had some barbeque had a few beverages and caught up on what we’ve been up to. We commented how bizarre it is after four or five years to meet up in the middle of Saskatchewan of all places. 😀
During our visit, Monika enjoyed taking Thor for walks and that gave myself and Sam the opportunity to play some music as he’s travelling with a beautiful guitar. Great jam session. 🤠
We have now left Moose jaw and we’re settling into Saskatoon and getting started our adventures with Nancy and Bob
Until next time, cheers 😁
Awesome journey
