We decamped Stoney Plain outside of Edmonton and headed in the direction of Rocky Mountain House as suggested by my neighbour Kevin, I took Highway 22 which is a beautiful highway to brings you into Central Alberta. Our destination was a golf course just outside Rocky Mountain house. ðŸ¤
Canyon Creek Golf and RV Park was very quiet. We arrived on Saturday night and Sunday most people pulled out and went home I guess.
We took the opportunity to go on the 1st and the 18th hole and have a look around and take a couple of snaps because it never gets dark and there’s nobody was playing golf anymore. We naturally stayed in the world where the sun never goes away. Before we left Stoney Plain our neighbors Karen and Kevin told us about something called Mead. When we were driving down, we didn’t feel that with our size we could pull into the meatery. After we freshened up and got ready on Sunday midday, we jumped in the Mini and off we went. A lovely drive and we learned all kinds of things about mead ðŸ¤
Mead is an interesting concoction of honey that makes a wine type substance. In Game of Thrones, in those type of shows, they drink mead not wine.
We had a sample and after that I was required to drink a coffee and naturally we did purchase a couple of bottles. Very lovely spot they have.
We hung around in town a little bit and had our sons old friend Erik and Justine and their kids over for a bbq. At one time Monika used to babysit Eric. Lovely to see how the family is growing and a great way to catch up. 😎
The next day we had a reunion with Nick and we headed off to Red Deer for a little bit of shopping and a very quick visit to Buffalo Airways hanger at The Red Deer Airport .
We stopped on the way back from Red Deer at Sylvan Lake and what a beautiful area with all kinds of stores and people on the beach
We packed up our camp and headed off towards Cochran. Nice calm drive and a beautiful campground. We also had another reunion with Nick and a nice lunch. The next day we took him to the airport and he headed back to Toronto. We are about an hour from Banff half an hour from Calgary where we will remain here for the next week or so.
Until next time, thanks for following along 😎
