Scary Desert Mountains Catche Creek and Vancouver Pt 1

Well, we started to pack up in Vernon and the first thing we had to do was go get gas. That was fun as we tried to pull into a husky gas station that wasn’t tall enough for our RV. A little bit of manoeuvring and a Petro solved that issue.

We had a nice drive up Highway 97 towards Kamloops. we had a technical problem in Kamloops, which required us to stop which was OK. It was nice lunch stop and a chance to make a couple of phone calls and prepare for the Drive through more mountains

We stayed on Highway one heading towards Catche Creek and in retrospect it’s cool but it was a scary drive up some very tall mountain road with not much in the line of rails and it was slow as that’s how I drive in that situation

We settled into the Catche Creek RV park in Catche Creek British Columbia, which is the middle of the desert from what I gathered

We enjoyed our stay in Catche Creek and went to explore a pretty cool old town called Ashcroft and had a nice lunch and drove around some freaky roads and the middle of the desert in British Columbia Canada unbelievable

We got up and we headed towards Chilliwack

The route was just unbelievably scary and some of it was cool, but we were really glad that we didn’t stay in Boston bar which originally was our plan We could see the big Fraser River thank God we beat the rain Chilliwack 😀

We settled in the night in Chilliwack and now we are in Aldergrove at Eagle Wind RV Park

We decided to spend our first free day as the weather was very nice and conducted our first visit to Vancouver. As we were told by Ileen to have a Japadog. We tried it and it was awesome. We walked around by the cruise ship terminal. We found a downtown street party overall it was a lovely day in Vancouver.

We’re going to be based here for the next week and we plan to visit with some old friends going and into Vancouver to attend a concert and all kinds of things other tourist things
