We had some time off and as per everything else we do on this trip we’re visiting with old friends. We had a chance to drop over and see our dear friend Bob, and catch up after many years of not seeing each other. It was a wonderful visit to find out what’s been going on

We drove around a little bit did a bit of grocery shopping and then we had our old friends, Rob and Susan over We reminisced about all the stupid things that we did over 30 years ago

We got up and went downtown and checked into the Hyatt Regency Vancouver for a night. We don’t have any air miles anymore, but that’s OK and it’s a beautiful hotel and we were up on the 30th floor. 😁

We had a really nice lunch and we walked down by the water and checked it all out again and headed off to the CF Pacific Mall for our quick pre-concert dinner

We walked down to The Rogers Arena and we attended Electric Light Orchestra and what a show it was. It was the last-minute decision to buy these tickets and for a good price we got really good tickets and we were quite happy with them. They played every song that you would know ELO for and then some.

After the show, we walked back to our hotel room and looked over the beautiful lights of downtown Vancouver at night

The next morning after a swim and a Starbucks breakfast, we headed off to the Vancouver Aquarium located in Stanley Park

We spent about three hours at the aquarium and saw all kinds of stuff. The sea lions, the seals and all kinds of different types of fish and frogs were extremely fascinating. 😀

The drive around Stanley Park was beautiful. We managed to navigate our way out of Vancouver where we got stuck on the highway for two hours because the main bridge over the Fraser River had a dump truck that spilt its load on that particular bridge. Anyway, we’ve been in traffic before, so it wasn’t the end of the world.

A suggestion from Rob and Susan we headed down to White Rock for a visit and that is certainly a beautiful place to go with lots of restaurants cafés with apparently the longest peer in Canada that we took a walk on. When we got there, it was low tide and the beach was really long as we left the tide came in and the beach disappeared, and when you’re not used to seeing is a pretty cool thing. 🤠

We stayed close to home and we plotted our visit to the ferry terminal on Tuesday. That’s when we head over to Vancouver Island.

More to come thanks for following along 😀
