So we’re back in beautiful Victoria preparing to take the voyage to America. We love hanging around one of our favorite Canadian cities. I never thought that I would know so much about Victoria as I do now.

The next morning we got up from our hotel room and got on the Black Ball Ferry headed to Port Angeles, Washington USA.

After a really cool crossing where we saw whales in the ocean and snow on the mountains, we begin to drive down highway 101. We spent our afternoon checking out this beautiful fall colors and all kinds of cool nature. We found an oyster party where they had a live band. We had an incredible what I will call a poutine. I can’t remember what they called it, but it was french fries with a seafood chowder over. It was awesome. We made reservations at a casino hotel, which was lots of fun, but we didn’t win any big piles of money. 😀

Up the next morning to continue our drive down the coast where we left Washington state and went into Oregon. It’s one serious bridge across the Columbia river that has angle to it as you can see in the photos. We had lunch at a really cool restaurant in downtown Astoria.

As we were now heading down the coast, we came across an air museum that was closed, but that was OK. The history of it is that it used to be an air hanger for those large balloons, like the Goodyear Blimp or the Hindenburg. What an incredible structure this place was It was massive and it was just out of the middle of nowhere. We got to our place at Seaside, Oregon, which is a beautiful coastal town with a really cool boardwalk to walk along and a beautiful ocean. This is where the famous European explorers Lewis and Clark, who are referenced by it seems every museum on the West Coast ended their Odyssey in 18 something or another. 😀

We had planned two nights in Seaside, but after looking at the weather forecast, we decided to not hang around for a day and watch it rain and we continued our drive down the 101. We saw lots of cool buildings and beaches and somewhere called The Devils Punchbowl. Incredible and pictures can’t even justify what we saw.

The natural scenery changed from beach mountains, rugged rocks in the ocean to everything starting to get green and then the most incredible trees. Due to the time of the year, most of this, we were the only people on the road. Driving through these trees is an incredible experience and they’re so big as per a couple of attached pictures and if you see the Mini in front of the tree, it’s unbelievable. That being said I was in for another shock a couple of days later.

We cross the great divine into California it changed again to some of the most coolest drives. We settled to a Best Western in the middle of Eureka, California. This place had a hot tub to end all hot tubs. It was beautiful and it was right in the middle of the town.😀

The road to San Francisco continued into the unbelievable trees and it got even more beautiful. While not planned. We eventually did come across the tree you could drive your car through. $15 later and the Mini was inside a tree and it was the coolest thing. The drive down the 101 changes so much from beach to mountain to desert to trees it’s overwhelming and how beautiful it is. 😎

We continued our drive south and eventually we had to do something. I can’t remember doing in a long time in November and that is turning on the air conditioner in the car. We were very pleased. We had a nice lunch in a place that’s named after Doobie Brothers song called Ukiah. 😎

Pictures along those highways through the desert through the beaches don’t do it justice. It’s so beautiful that being said, I would not do it in an RV. We arrived in San Francisco to beautiful weather for an upcoming fantastic weekend

Sorry for the delay in putting a blog together, but we’ve been busy relatively speaking

Thanks for following along
